Deep Roots & Strong Generations.

Our Roots

Annie Johnson and Arthur Charles Wilson married in McCurtain County, Oklahoma in 1926, during the expansion of cotton farming for Black farmers. Newlyweds during the Great Depression, Arthur and Annie successfully managed to maintain their farm, sell crops, and raise two children, while Idabel faced a cotton market crash and farm closures. The couple raised a total of ten children who have grown the Johnson-Wilson heritage and resilience across four generations.
